"Bare trees, gaunt beasts and inconceivable quiet is an ep that explores traditional winter holiday imagery and how it alludes to the heaviness of winter spent in places where there is no snow, no poetic serenity, but rather an inertial gray which hardly encumbers our everyday lives. Yet, somehow in spite of such stark experiential differences that climate creates, the holiday season still brings with it a unifying will and spirit that brings people together when the elements would have otherwise." - William Ryan Fritch
William Fritch is a composer, recordist, producer and multi-instrumentalist based out of Oakland, CA where he is pursuing his MA in composition at Mills College. He is a member of the experimental Post-Hop group Sole and the SkyRider band, records world/chamber/garage rock under the moniker Vieo Abiungo, and has composed music for several dozen films.
Recorded, written/arranged, and mixed by William Fritch: vocals, guitars, piano, pianet, clavinet, cello, viola, violin, contra bass, percussion, drums, clarinet, marimba, vibraphone, bells, mandolin, accordion, pedal steel, flute, harp, sheet metal.
